Welcome to my website.
When I first put it together I wanted to have the opportunity to share my tapestries. The art form of weaving tapestries is such a long, slow process that I really wanted a way to be able to show each completed work when it was finally finished.
Then I realized that I also wanted to be able to share the scarves as they were “hot off the loom”, in their case a portable, rigid heddle loom. Unlike tapestries, there have always been a lot of them because I can finish them, comparatively, very quickly. They really do feel like they come “hot off the loom”.
Over time, I began making textile art that includes weaving and embroidery and wood along with other natural objects from the woods, in ways that have taken on a life of their own.
And then there are linoprints, paintings and photographs. It has only occurred to me lately to share this work that I have been making throughout my life. It is exciting for me to now see this work on the website.
Like most artists, making and creating is an ongoing and interesting process. It is almost impossible to overstate that. I hope you enjoy my Galleries. I would love to hear your thoughts and to hear about your making and creating.
